Don't let the dealership tell you that 16" don't fit! Thankfully I had a new set of wheels and tires I purchased for my 2017 Elantra limited which I traded in for my 2017 sport. Since the stock wheels were 17" I opted for the 16" set. The dealership was adamant that 16" would not fit on the sport because of the larger front brakes. After I had purchased the sport I decided to try fitting the tires myself. Turns out they do. My tires are 205/55/R16 Hakkapelliita R2 which are needed here in Winnipeg, Manitoba during the winter months from late November until the following March or April. The tires still spin under icy conditions. I find it somewhat hard to believe that stock tires driving through 6" of snow and not getting stuck is a little exaggerated.
