I have been having problems with the elantra recently. CEL for P0455 and P226100, now I'm having starting problems. It randomly won't start, single click and nothing. Today it did it and 15 seconds later it started lol. I did replace the battery, it was reading less than 12v, but I guess it wasn't the problem lol. Other than it not starting, it's been running and driving fine. Once again, just a single click and nothing, but it eventually starts. Thank you for your time!

P0455 is the EVAP system. You can either replace the solenoid which is above the throttle body (connected to it with a small hose) or clear it and see if it comes back. One of the very common quirks with these cars is that it will throw the P0455 code in cold weather for no reason.

P2261 is either a sticky bypass valve or the solenoid.

check starter relay, possible defective starter. This is a basic diag for a trained tech I now people want to work on there own cars but I can't stress this enough if you're not mechanically inclined leave it to the certified Hyundai techs don't waste your money and time
I have a same problem(P2261)
I can check fuel misfire
I was tried fix the bypass valve and the solenoid, but continuous occurrence of the same phenomenon.
So, i will change timing chain.
but i don't know it will works
i think all 1.6T engine is have a same issue.

P2261 is bypass valve or solenoid that goes with it.

Timing chain definitely not necessary for that code...

I have a P2261 and P0300(1~4 all).
Already changed spark plug but nothings change.
I was checked bypass valve and solenoid.
I did changed the solenoid and bypass is ok
Mechanic said 'me neither, i don't know'
That's why i will change the timing chain

That's an expensive fix for something that has nothing to do with either of those codes. But it's your car.

Did you check the coil also check power and ground at the coil connection where the misfire is timing Chain would not cause that wasting your money

Are somebody trying to con you be careful mechanics will tell you anything for a pay day also verify compression bad cam timing will cause low compression on all of the cylinders not just one

Verify compression check cam crank timing marks you can do that without tearing apart your engine
