Been a lurker for a while now and reading a lot on everything i can on this car and it's wonderful spirited engine.
Picked up a Dark Grey Elantra SR about 2 months ago in Melbourne and loving every second i'm in it. Yes it's basic inside, yes the stock tires suck, yes we missed out on several options only the US model got, but dam this car is FUN and i'm loving it!!! i test drove just about every car i could around this price range before i bought this car and i just kept on going back to different Hyundai dealerships to test drive them. It's the perfect bang for buck.
I just kept going back for more, this car put a smile on my face every time i drove it.
Now looking at doing some minor modifications to it, CAI, tork pipe, turbo down pipe, perhaps an ECU tune if someone can guarantee that the local dealerships won't pick it up or find a way of hiding it. We get 5 year warranty down here and i plan on not voiding it too much if i can.
If anyone else from Australia is interested in combined shipping from the US vendors please PM me, there's a couple of items i wouldn't mind getting from them or getting things made locally if it's too hard/expensive.
If the MODS are reading this, any chance you can create an AUSTRALIA region section?
