Yes, and I'm glad I did. Last month my Turbo Coolant Line failed; not covered beyond 5yr/60k warranty; out of pocket cost with xtra warranty; $100. Coverage beyond basic is exclusive to powertrain.Did anyone decide to purchase extra warranty and why? o_o just curious
$2200 for a platinum coverage is not insane unless you mean it's cheap...if it was only for 2 years that would be steep, but that would depend on the miles you currently have on the car. I deal with Vehicle Service Contracts all day long and if it was a comprehensive coverage for say 48-60k miles or 4 to 5 years, with say rental car and 24 hr road side, low or no deductible, $2200 is a good price. If it's really cheap you're probably getting low quality coverage that isn't worth spit. You might want to look into a Wrap VSC to match the powertrain coverage that you have left from HyundaiI added GAP protection through my credit union for around $450 since my insurance doesn't offer it. So I'm still shopping for an extended warranty. the Hyundai dealer's price for the Platinum plan is $2200, which obviously is insane and they said that cost was $1900 which is lol.
Carchex also wanted around $2000 for a complete coverage warranty, so the only options I have on the table is through my credit union via Mercury Insurance.
