i did a little more digging, and I think he had the stock muffler cut out, and the magnaflow welded in.
There's not enough piping on the axleback to do that. The exhaust shop likely kept the first 1-2 feet of piping where it connects to the midpipe, and then custom fabricated everything from there.

They have a magnaflow option...just keep the first feet of pipe like you said, but then replace the midpipe with this? Also, I received a response from person in the video I posted above, and they said they indeed just cut out and weld in the magnaflow muffler....Since I'm learning a little more, I'm guessing they did this in the mid pip, not the rear-most muffler.


If I were to replace the midpipe only with kmtuners, would that have any worthwhile performance gain, since I'd be keeping the rear muffler? what usually has a better effect on performance if you could only do one: rear muffler or midpipe muffler?

That's the mid-pipe, it's a completely separate piece. The whole exhaust is in three sections: Downpipe, midpipe, axleback. Muffler deletes usually just replace the axleback section. Replacing the mid pipe will delete the 2nd catalytic converter. You may pick up some low end and throttle response but not much gains. Ditto on the axleback. Because of the limiters in the stock ECU, you can throw everything at the car and only make an extra 10-15hp over stock.
