Ohhh, I didn't even realize there were screws under those rubber bumpers. I only removed the other two screws that you see when you slide the thing forward. Thanks again! I'll post my results, probably during or after the weekend. I have no stitching skills, so going to recruit someone else to do that. Thinking of using blue thread to match the exterior. Definitely don't want red.
Learned from my years working in auto service that you can never be too sure about where screws and clips are, how some car makers mount panels and things like this amazes me that more people don't break clips or get fed up enough to rip a panel out!
I didn't even think of doing that. Very clever! I did not want the same stitched seams in the new one, but the overall shape of it will be super helpful. Btw, also thinking of redoing the shift boot with the same Alcantara. This material is just so nice. Is it easy to take off?
The shift boot should be easy. The shifter surround pops off if I'm not mistaken and you unscrew the shift knob to slide the boot and surround off. Disassemble the fabric the same way to use the pieces as a template. I will be doing this as well, but I'm waiting for a short-shifter to hit the market so I can custom fit the boot to the shorter height. I don't want a crap ton of extra material bunched up when I install the short-shifter. It wouldn't be difficult to alter it after the fact, I suppose. Just lower the boot further into the surround, adhere, staple and off you go.
Nah, not yet. They have the bushings up on their site. I am sincerely hoping TWM plays ball and puts one into production for us. Even Tyson@Tork knows their product is very, very good. Hopefully someone gets one going soon!
