Anybody have any insider information regarding when the GT is coming out? Website says Summer but the Hyundai rep I talked to at the local auto show said Fall. I like the sedan but was hoping to make the GT Sport my next car when my lease is up in August.

Edit: US availability

I heard fall as well from a Hyundai rep at the auto show.

I really like the hatch and wanted a hatch, but the sedan was so nice and such a great deal I couldn't wait. For me it boiled down to: hatchback versatility vs. sedan availability now, no tablet stuck on the dash, and no excessive red accents.

Yeah that's probably what it's gonna come down to for me as well...with all the additional tech and lack of discounts at the onset I get the impression it will be ~$6K more than the sedan. And you're right, that head unit is hideous, looks like a kids tablet.

I somewhat doubt it would be that much more. That would put the car at around 31k msrp, the same price range as the GTI with options. Hyundai is known for giving out a lot of features at an affordable price. I'd suspect it would be about 2k more than the elantra sport. But I'm just speculating as well :).

Edit: I too am waiting for the Elantra GT sport

I agree! I think it will be around ~$27-28K. What I meant was that you can already get (according to this forum) the sedan fully loaded with DCT for $21.5K. I don't anticipate there will be any crazy discounts like that on the GT out of the gate.

from a source that I know.. its about 3 months before they start hitting the ports here in the US, then its just matter of time Hyundai releasing the GT to the dealers.

Wait, wait, wait, the GT has a tablet style radio? Similar to the Mazda 3 ? Thank god I didn't wait for that. They look terrible.
