Hello all, i just purchased my 2018 Silver Elantra Sport DCT .
Its my first Hyundai and got to admit it is pretty **** nice for the price point. I've put around 400 miles on it so far and its a blast with the low end torque.
I just have to get used to the hesitation it has when at a dead stop, not sure if that's a turbo thing or dct thing buy none the less still having fun with it.
Thanks for the welcome. I've only see one other sport in my area and that was 2 weeks ago lol.
I stay out in Fort Worth so i think i may be one of very few to own one .
There are a couple up your way. I'm down in the Austin area so I keep contact with a lot of the Dallas and Houston folks. Check out the Central Texas thread in the regional forum. I'm going to try to keep it updated with bigger meets and such.
welcome to the Hyundai family! the hesitation is from the DCT and the ECU will adopt to your throttle response eventually.. so it wont be an issue in the near future!!
That^, and look up YouTube videos on Hyundai DCT explanations. There's a skinny lil dude on there that explains AMAZINGLY how they work and the do and don't.
Thanks guys for the responses.
So should i NOT step on the throttle lightly to avoid the hesitation since the ECU is gonna learn my driving response?
Should i drive it the way i drive any of my cars and just deal with the hesitation until it works itself out?
I will look for that youtube video for sure since it is my first dct lol can't hurt to learn something new
Congratulations on your new ES. Im from the ft. Worth area we'll have to meet up one day. I just bought mine Friday from Burleson.
