Hi BlazingYellow2017,

did you compared the new 2018 model. I'm go to get this Elantra Sport too. But don't know what's the difference of the 2017 and 2018. The MSRP is the same but 2017 got $1750 incentives right now.
Seems no difference from interior to exterior, engine, rim, light...

To my knowledge... There is no difference other than the year. If you can save with any incentives on the 2017, I would suggest you do.... ?

12 Veloster DCT Tech package (no turbo) is my first Hyundai but really frustrated. I put Eneos synthetic oil since second oil change. Using Shell V-Power and no mod. Only changed the stock air filter to K&N drop in filter.

Burning oil appeared about 95,000 km then dealer replaced the short block under warranty. Now about 152,000 km. Got abnormal ticking noise from engine and got engine warning light. A little bit less power than before but still could be drove.

My garage mechanic told me it's engine problem so better to trade in ASAP. Brought to dealer and said the engine was needed to replace (no more warranty).

So I'm looking for the replacement right now. Had test drive the 2018 Elantra Sport 1.6 DCT and 2018 Elantra GT Sport 1.6 DCT. Impressive performance feeling comparing with my current Veloster.

Just noticed they are offering $1750 incentives for 2017 model. If there is no difference or upgrade comparing to 2018 model, I'm thinking serious the 2017 model.

Actually don't want Hyundai again as the bad experience of the Veloster. But thinking about it should be better trade in value for my Veloster if back to Hyundai dealer.

Hey, Kdeltlor, he is in the appropriate thread. He's looking to buy an ES - where would you suggest he go for the best info on our wonderful cars?

Check out the Elantra Sport Owners Group on Facebook as well Petabytes.

Understood, that was disrespectful of me and I apologize to Petabytes and BlazingYellow2017.
The intention of my comment is to point out that this is a thread started by BlazingYellow2017 inside of "Owners Registry And Check In Area" and was hoping that Petabytes would start his own thread.

Thanks for all you guys.

Just a little comments. As not much thread specific to our Canadian owner in here. I suggest someone can host a facebook page like our GTA Veloster.

Also hope to be a real ES owner soon before X'mas. Ho Ho Ho.

Just placed order for the 2018 ES DCT yesterday. But might still need to wait for it to delivery at JAN as my dealer had no stock at this moment.

Welcome to the forum!

I've never met a loyalist like you before
What do you like about Elantra the most?
Thank You... Yes... I'm a big fan and proud owner of Hyundai's. I even convinced my wife to give up her Honda Civic and buy a new Elantra and she just loves it!

Seems this thread is kind of dead which doesn't surprise me Ive only ever seen one ES on the road here in Ontario.

Just bought a Marina Blue (maybe electric blue for those of you in the US) 6 Speed base. Loving it so far it's amazing. It's a steal for what you pay for it. From the York Region northern area.
