Hey, i’ve owned my ES for about 10,000km. about a couple months ago I had my intake piping melt (where it connects to the intake manifold) which caused a boost leak. Of which i suspect caused my overheating issues in which cylinder 3&4 overheated melting my coils and needing me to replace them and my plugs.

Recently again i’ve been having some new intake noise, almost as if i have a custom intake (but it’s all stock apart from my BOV and exhaust). I just want to know if it’s a known issue for these intake pipes to melt consistently if driven hard and if so. what should i do to fix this issue.

Any information will be much appreciated.

It is not normal, no. In fact the intake connection at the throttle body is nowhere near anything that would melt it. And a boost leak would not cause overheating.
