I've been reading some of the veloster forums, but it seems with our engines and no MAF, tuning is not an issue with intakes (in terms of safe air-feul ratios). I'm guessing our stock tune is a bit different than the veloster. That being said, does anyone see any issues running an intake without a tune on our engines?

The programming concept isn't any different than the 1.6T in the veloster in that regard.

Running an intake like ours is no problem in the Elantra or the VT, the computer will hit target Air/Fuel programmed without issue :)

Great thanks for the reply. I figured as much. I know some vehicles like the wrx, not tuning is a death sentence. Just wanted to confirm that our mapping was similar to the VT, and resultant, intake would be a non-problem.

Hows an intake problematic for a WRX without a tune??

I just remember hearing how touchy the 2013-14 wrx were sensitive to changes, but never owned one. Just what I've heard. I'm new to the turbo charged scene, so learning the ropes. Been working with NA cars up to this point.

I have an intake and use torque through android auto to check the measured AFR by the ecu and it definitely keeps everything where you'd expect it, at least as it is reported.

Can you elaborate on how I'm assuming this App works. Intakes with no tune in some cars will make them run lean. I know it makes the Evo X run lean. Also has anyone done an independent dyne on their EST. I would like to see the power curve of the car stock.
