So I've had my ES for a little over a week now, and I am very pleased. I've noticed a few quirks that bug me a bit, and I figured it couldn't hurt to list them here just in case there were fixes/workarounds/known issues with my list.

1. I have the DCT transmission and it has some issues downshifting manually. Sometimes I'll manually downshift to engine brake when approaching a light, and for some reason it will go from 6th to 5th to 4th and then jump down to 2nd... it often seems to skip 3rd for no reason. I'll be around 25 MPH, so when it drops to 2nd, it revs up to 5k RPMs or something silly. I'm just wondering why I normally can't get it to drop sequentially through the gears as I slow down. Other than that, it is a fabulous transmission.

2. My infotainment screen lags on startup sometimes. At one point, I had backed out of a parking space and started driving off. The rear view camera stayed on for a solid 10-15 seconds as I was driving down the road before it switched back to the map. I've also experienced the rear view camera not switching on when starting the car and backing out of a parking space right away. It seems like it's random on when it decides to be slow.

3. Driver side visor rattles. This one isn't too important to me since I'm coming from a Subaru WRX - EVERYTHING rattled in that car.

4. Cruise control doesn't show the MPH it is set at. Just a small thing that would be nice.

Overall, I am very happy with the car. It's a great looking car with a bunch of features for a great price. You guys have any input on my issues, or any issues of your own?

All infotainment systems do this from time to time, as the hardware in the head units is barely better than a $100 tablet 99% of the time. Woefully underpowered. My 5 year old Nexus 7 is still way faster then pretty much all in car systems, including aftermarket head units. I have a buddy that got a nav unit from Alpine. I can't stand even watching him use it, it is so unforgivably slow and clunky.

Hyundai has some of the industry's best head units in the current lineup as far as responsiveness and layout goes.

I find that the infotainment system gets weird if you don't let it do everything it needs to do before you start moving. Gotta let it boot, your phone connect, any USB drive you have connected be read, and load maps. If you start moving before that it'll be wonky.

I find that the radio and USB drive sometimes fight for control of the ambiance. It goes back and forth and I let the winner play/ :)

Yeah I was thinking it was something like that. I bet the bluetooth connection takes a bit of CPU power and slows it down some at the beginning.

Strange, I have not had it be slow or get stuck in backup mode, or any weirdness at all. I have multiple devices connecting to it recently/regularly which include a Nexus 4, LG G4(RIP[bootloop :(]), Galaxy S5, Iphone 6, as well as my home and work WiFi. My MP3's are loaded onto the internal storage and never any issue reading/loading those, there are a few FLAC in there too.

FYI - I thought I had a rattle too until I found out it was my sunglasses up in the roof holder - glasses out and rattle gone !
I checked that today, but it is indeed the visor. Or more precisely, the visor extension piece. I'm just going to put a piece of felt or something on there to keep it from vibrating.

Oh. Pfffft. That ain't even a small fraction of the MP3s that I have. I roll around with about 50 gigs of a 64GB thumb drive full of music.
I have a hard drive that contains like 85gb of music and I usually just rotate back and forth with what I have on my thumb drive... Get tired of some stuff to quick... Usually just use Pandora lol... I do wonder how using up that storage would slow down the unit though.

One functional USB port to the head unit is annoying, as I use AA quite often, so having a USB drive in there doesn't work. Just got an LG G6(a week early!) to replace my beloved G4, and a 128GB microSD card is on the way. That will have pretty much all the space I need for my MP3 collection, and Google Play Music library.
