Have you tried replacing the keyfob battery first, to see if thats the issue.
Remote key left inside
Hello, I am new to the forum, Elantra Sport 2018, the other day I left a store and when I got to the car I realized that I had left the remote key inside the car, nothing indicated that the key was inside when I closed the door, is there a way to restablish this function

but if key battery discharge, you can lock the door
check the key battery.
