I was under the impression blue link gave remote start regardless of transmission (obviously with car left in neutral). This is what the salesman told me at least however it's not working. Any ideas or is the remote start only in DCT Vehicles? I won't be purchasing blue link past the free trial if it doesn't offer remote start.

Bluelink is available on the premium package whether it's manual or dct however the remote start feature on the manual will never work. You can still take advantage of the other benefits though. Not sure why your salesperson told you that it'll work.

Used to have a compustar remote start on an old lude' and it really changed the way I operated lol. I'd always been so used to leaving it in gear after parking the car. I doubt the dealer would offer it just because of the safety concern of leaving it in gear accidentally.
