No, we’re still working on this. I have to talk to the factory, but rather than just sending him pics, I am going to meet with him and talk directly. Please be just a bit more patient, and I will get back to you.

Hi,

your knob option#1 have the reverse on the wrong side and the option#2 is to simple.
seriously the stock one is good looking and most important in leather. weather go as low as -30 here and a steel knob is COLD at those temperature.

I plan on modify your part this weekend.
what is the thread of the plastic insert?

is the plastic insert can be remove easily or it's loctite/glue?

not sure if I fab one from scratch with 6061 alu or just cut your and add thickness and weld back?

what #alu is your part made of, I only have 6xxx serie and weld with 3xxx wire?

Sorry for the late reply.

The one you got is the Elantra Sport model. I’m not sure why it will not fit. What we do know is, if you are willing to use the optional shift knob shown here, then this will definitely work. It’s just the height of the gear knob that is the issue, right?

hi guys,

sorry but this become ridiculous! can some one send me a longer plastic insert! it's only a screw in insert, shouldn't be to complicated to fab a 10mm longer one?

thanks

Okay, this is a bit strange. Can you tell me exactly the model year and model of your car? Is it the regular Elantra or is it the Elantra Sport model? And the gear knob is a factory gear knob that was originally in your car, right? It is a screw-on type?

stock knob and if I screw it in more the top pop out...
photos show the offset of the stock one your unit is 1 inch offset compare to stock add to the 1 inch shorter it make a big diff.
but my main concern is really the reverse lorckout

Hi,

I just installed the short shifter on my Elantra sport 2017 and there's some problem with it.
with out the angle in it, the shifter location is changed.
but mostly and importantly, the reverse lockout mechanism is not long enough. the lockout isn't cover by the knob. it missing like 10mm and I can not just put a shim under it because it won't do is job anymore and slide in reverse with no need to pull.
what can you do with this?

thanks

Jean Sebastien

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your order at Shark Racing.

Your order has been shipped, so you should be getting it soon.

Please be sure to track the package, so that you know exactly where it is. We sometimes get packages returned because the post office left a note asking the customer to call and make arrangements for delivery, but the customer never calls, so the package gets returned to us. In these cases, the customer will have to pay shipping costs again to have the package reshipped. So, please be sure to track the package and contact your local post office if the package is delayed for any reason.

We have shipped the following products.

Holy crap! I can't believe they didn't tell you what an idiot you are. Not that you're an idiot, but that's been how they typically handle customer service issues like this in the past.

So, at least they've improved a little bit. :D
