While driving on Interstate at highway speeds, subtle steering changes resist input, then "break" past the resistance point, which results in too much direction change. Anyone know what this is? I don't feel that it is my tires, they appear fine at 20K.

While this was noticeable in my previous Elantra MD, no issues with the ES so far (2018). If yours is AD+, shut off LKAS and see if this helps.

It has been an issue with these cars the last few model years. Let your dealer know while it is still in the 4/50 portion of the base warranty. It has something to do with the increased steering feel.
