For those not on Facebook, we posted our preliminary dyno results for our 3.5in intake system.

In the dyno sheet below, you'll see we gained on the entire RPM range with a peak 12 wheel hp and 14wheel tq.

With it being about 89degF in the shop, intake temps for the stock run were about 105degF with coolant temps at 180degF.
We installed the new intake and waited for temps to come down so we could start the test run with the same intake/coolant temps to keep any variables to a minimum.

I am really interested to see what the power increase is after putting some miles on and the fuel trims have adjusted/settled.

Overall though, very impressed so far. Our intake will be on the site today/tomorrow for $205 shipped. I'll post those pictures here as soon as we're done.

@birdman What was the shipping cost to AUS?
USPS Priority Mail – 6-10 business day delivery - $80 USD
USPS Express Mail Delivery – 2-5 day delivery time - $105 USD

Calculated based on my post code in Perth.

Holding off for now as I contemplate the direction I'll go in... as that equals about $400 AUD delivered and I already have a pod filter on the stock pipe, which is a bit quieter but should give a performance boost somewhere between stock and the 6th element intake.

you added a pod filter to stock, that's a good idea.
so you removed the airbox and just attached a pod to the end?

I've just done the same thing 2 days ago with bridman's tips. REALLY EASY to do.

However, very loud.... you can hear the air rush in on acceleration plus the BPV sound coming in as well, this sound is annoying.
Sound is not consistent and when you're really giving it to it, it fluttering constantly during acceleration, not just when you change gear or let go off the throttle..... very weird.

Thought it might be wasting boost.... time for a BPV upgrade?

GFB TMS BOV maybe?

Good point, got carried away! Thing is though, so far there hasn't been any pics or videos of this intake that makes it look different than anything else. Not knocking on it, but it would be nice to see something new for this car. That's why the discussion went a different route.

Seamless pipe, no weld in the middle is the biggest difference. Owner preference is what I like to say, go with whichever one catches your eye or speaks to you the most, they all do the same thing.

That's the only difference? By now I was hoping to see a boxed design or something new. Or maybe a better designed tube made of silicone (like mountune) that muffles unwanted suction noises but still improves airflow over the factory tube.

Can't speak for everyone, but I personally don't care that much about looking at dyno charts to see tiny hp gains that you can't feel anyway when driving. That will get exciting when some tunes come out to see those torque curves change over stock. An intake and exhaust is mostly about sound. So far, the factory pipe with a cone filter is the best sounding option. That should be the base line now to build upon.

You'll probably want an intake with a box and SXTH has one of those planned but it's not a priority at the moment.

Edit: Just checked their site, pics are up now.

Beautiful work, same as the tork intake in terms of overall quality and look, no denying it! If I were shopping for intakes, I wouldn't even know which to get as they look identical besides the filter. How would one make a choice? Seems like they both started developing at the same time when the car came out, but one got released sooner. Also, even if you stick this into a box, it'll still make a lot of noise. Not that much of a problem when you're in the mood and driving spiritedly. But when you're driving after work kinda tired and going more uphill and it sounds like you're vacuuming your house, that does not scream sporty, just wanna mute it but you can't. Try it and let me know. If the tube were made of thick silicone, it would absorb a lot of that noise while retaining all the benefits and look nice too. I really hope something like this will be made. Otherwise more people will just run stock intakes with a cone filter.

I went with SXTH for a few reasons which I will not bring up here just because I don't want to start a fight. lol!

No hills around here so couldn't say. lol

I gotta say, I haven't really seen anyone outside of yourself that's brought it up.
