U0001 trouble code

Had the classic Christmas tree problem for the second time. Both times because I accidentally opened the torque app while the car was off outside. Last time I tried everything and couldn't get the code to leave even though the cel was off. So I bought a new obdlink lx. This time... Ditto tried everything I've looked at the vt forums and haven't found a definitive answer, is there anything I can do to fix this without replacing the scanner again. They are 25 bucks. So far ive plugged it in with the car running, plugged it in with the car off and when the car is in acc mode same thing with unplugging it and turning off the torque app
