drag coefficient. better flow of air for fuel economy.

I thought it was brake cooling as well, but seeing those vents exit on the outer side rather than inner is making me think again... leaning towards lower drag coefficient as well.

Both, but more so with creating air flow down the side of the body, reducing turbulence in the front wheel well, and drag. Helps a small amount with wind noise too.

Word. Not for brake cooling. I did CFD like this before. aerodynamics reasons only in this case.
