So I paid off the car recently 2018 ES with 43k miles ( I'm the original owner), was looking at a g70 or Kia Stinger brand new but my wife wants a brand new Sienna so I figured it was more responsible to put 7 to 8 grand into my car to make it drive the way I want and keep it for another four to five years.

I started with a lower motor mount, dual catch can (sxth), and the bov solenoid upgrade (Pierburg). Had my down pipe (sxth) in for about 1 week, upgraded the plugs hksm45xl, intercooler with hot pipe upgrade (sxth), takeda momentum intake put in 2 days ago, have a EK1 lite for remote tuning. Things coming this week, pierce axleback exhaust, ebcs (pierburg, rear sway bar ( pierce), rear sway bar endlinks (white line), bov
Go Fast Bits t9221 hybrid dual oulet valve, n75 neodymium magnetic drain plug, X1-Revolution OBD2 Multi Display Engine Monitor, Powerflex Trans Mount Bushing Insert - Race (Black), Powerflex Upper Motor Mount Bushing Insert - Race (Black), MSD High Performance Ignition Coil Pack, 1.6T DCT Custom Hybrid K03 Turbo Upgrade Kit n75, ECU/TCU tuning n75.

Here are some photos of the down pipe install, intercooler, and intake.

P.S.

If you buy a sxth intercooler for the 17-18 Elantra sport they say that there's some light grinding required to the crash bar. Make no mistake about it, it's not light grinding, you have to cut the bottom of the crash bar to get it to fit.

Shout out to my man Joe he's the guy blow torching the mid pipe to the cat, he went to war on that down pipe install he is the mechanic at my dealership. We actually broke the stud taking off the cat, there is a security nut on the turbo that doesn't like it when you try to take it off.

It's like Christmas, so many packages today, hopefully I'll get the axleback exhaust, ebcs, and the bov on today. I'll attach the velossa big mouth later. Read my ECU last night after updating the firmware on the ek1, sent the ecu data to n75, ecu/tcu custom tune coming shortly!

Axleback installed, if your in Columbus Ohio nobody better than Mad Hatter for your exhaust needs (shout out to Donnie and Tommy!). They made sure my bumper did not melt and got the tips lowered. Sounds good, gonna hook up the ebcs and use the ek1 to write the tune to my ECU.

Got a borescope to check intake valves, been running amsoil 5w30 until I got tuned now I run Redline 5w40 with ceratec liquid moly, going to rotate with liquid moly molygen/ceratec and redline. Would stay with amsoil but they don't make a 5w40 compatible with our car. Here some photos of the valve from chambers 1-2 ( I have video of chamber3 was pretty clean like 2, 1 had more carbon, and 4, I didnt get to). I run crc intake valve cleaning every 10k miles, no oil catch can until about 5k miles ago. I'm quite happy with the results ( amsoil, top tier fuel, and crc). Snow WMI with trunk upgrade,, and KDM tuners TB spacer ordered, so carbon is going to be a thing of the past.

White line performance lower ball joints front control arm bushings, and lower control arm bushing arrived today also. still waiting on the Gecko coil overs. Once they get here all will be installed.

Got the rear sway bar from Pierce motorsports and white line endlinks installed last friday. Cornering like a champ, can't wait to see what the coil overs and bushings do. installing the Whiteline transmission bushing tomorrow. Strut bar is next purchase.

Head studs not necessary. Either are the springs unless you want more revs. Curious with all this money spent on the car why you went with Gecko coilovers? So many other, better options.

So over 300 whp I wouldn't need headstuds ( I know it says 280 whp but I'll hit 300 +)?

They came highly recommended for daily driving and some autocross here and there. What would you suggest? Got them for $864.

SXTH's shop car made 400+ whp on the stock head studs. The only version of this engine that studs would be recommended were the 1st generation Veloster's.

For coilovers, Yellowspeed Racing would be my recommendation, followed by BC Racing. Both more expensive but suspension is not something you want to cheap out on.

I saw the video of the sxth car he didn't really put his foot down because he didn't want to be the one to blow the motor, lol. I got the point though, I think they got 90k miles on that car before they sold it.

I found these on their site,

It's only 400 more what makes them better?

So coil overs are here, and the stuffed turbo arrived today, super stoked. Everything will be installed except the WMI on the 10th of next month. Having fun driving the car now can't to see the difference after the 10th.

Thanks for stopping in Nocturniss, meth is installed, so glad I did it, without it my intake temps would be 40-50 over ambient in city driving, that's with the sixth intercooler and their hot pipe upgrade now my Temps can be 20-30f below ambient. Huge difference plus get the valves clean highly recommended. Spraying through a throttle body spacer from KDM tuners ( josh is a nice guy, and is responding to emails now). On a side note Josh said he would look to see if he had a DCT clutch upgrade left if not it might take a couple months for him to make one for me( I really want to increase my torque and Daniel from n75 said he could correctly tune the DCT clutch upgrade) Got the preload adjusted on the wastegate psi peaks at 24-25 in 2nd, 3-6 it will pea22- 23 and hold 20 until redline with the n75 tune. I'm doing brakes next (lol I should've done these sooner).

Probably going to do the cold pipe upgrade, and mid pipe on my exhaust.

Car drives fantastic. I'll upload some photos when I get a chance

I'll post some pics here soon. Stay tuned.

So the brakes are ordered should be arriving in 4-6 weeks. Cold pipe made the turbo spools up faster now and charge temps are slightly cooler,Also have forged rods, pistons, arp main/head studs installed, and super tech valve springs.

did you find that you did need the headstuds? I'm on a similar journey for my 2019 Elantra GT N-Line, paid off and warranty recently expired. I'm on a quest for 300+, I am hoping to accomplish it by upgrading to a high flow catted downpipe + kdmtuners Upgraded K03 turbo. I'm tuned by N75 Stage 2+ and definitely want more power lol.

#35 ·
Well I want to go big turbo after a dct clutch upgrade is available (Josh at kdm tuners said he is working on another solution), so I'm planning for the future. Waiting on my revision from Daniel at n75 to push their hybrid turbo to 315-320 whp( holiday break for him). I would do head studs if I were you, my head lifted when my actuator was being adjusted. So I just did the kit to make sure that doesn't happen again and I can run higher psi without worry.

Yes stock trans, Hopefully Josh at kdm tuners refines his clutch pack that was good to 400 wt. N75 has a dct clutch pack to get about 330 wt. ( The labor cost is holding me back on that).A wmi kit is very helpful with our cars. Still waiting on the rest of the parts for my brake kit that was missing. Hopefully by next week's I'll have some numbers.

Sounds like a solid plan. Hopefully, Josh gets that clutch pack dialed in for higher power. The N75 option is decent, but yeah, labor costs can be a real hurdle. WMI definitely makes a difference on these cars. Hope you get the rest of your brake kit soon—looking forward to seeing your numbers
